Scott serves as CEO of Cobalt, bringing over a decade of operational leadership and high-stakes legal strategy to the forefront of AI speech technology. Scott has been integral to Cobalt since its founding in 2014, when he established the legal framework for the company's foundational strategic partnerships.

Under his leadership, Cobalt is dedicated to delivering best-in-breed AI tools for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and ultra-accurate, efficient ASR solutions for global speech tech clients. Scott is particularly passionate about expanding AI accessibility, leading initiatives to develop speech technologies for under-resourced African languages in direct collaboration with talented engineering teams across Africa.

Prior to leading Cobalt, Scott built a distinguished legal career as an appellate litigator with the U.S. Department of Justice, a corporate M&A attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, and Head of Legal and Compliance for Morgan Stanley's Tokyo operations.

Alok is the Chief Technology Officer at Cobalt. He sets the technical direction for Cobalt's speech and language products and leads the research and engineering teams that build them. His focus is practical impact: accurate, efficient systems, shipped as platforms and SDKs that customers run on their own infrastructure. Before Cobalt, Alok was a machine learning scientist in Amazon's Alexa group, working on language and pronunciation modeling. He holds a PhD in Language Technologies from Carnegie Mellon University, where he was advised by Dr. Alan W. Black and contributed to the Festival, Festvox, and Flite open-source speech toolkits.

Stan is the Chief Scientist at Cobalt and takes a lead role in the technical approach on Cobalt projects. Prior to Cobalt, Stan was a key speech scientist at Amazon, and contributed directly to acoustic modeling on the Echo as well as other Amazon speech projects. He also worked in machine learning applications at Yap, NASA.

Heidi is the Chief Operating Officer at Cobalt, where she oversees daily execution. Prior to joining Cobalt, Heidi was a co-owner of SALT Software, where she spent 15 years building the business structure that led to the partnership with Cobalt. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin and has worked in finance and human resources for various companies including American Girl.
